POLICY & RISK

Will my number get banned for using a bot? Answering inbound is the compliant lane.

It's the first question people ask us, and here's the honest version: the bot isn't the problem. The problem is bulk messages to people who never wrote to you and don't know you — which is something we neither do nor sell.

Reply to inbound · no mass blasting · your number stays yours
THE POLICY, HONESTLY
What actually gets a number restricted?

The compliant lane is simple: the customer messages you first and you reply. That is the use the platform is built around — a conversation the customer started, whether an employee or an AI desk answers from behind the same number. Trouble comes from the other direction: bought or scraped number lists, and messages fired in bulk at people who asked you for nothing. Recipients report those messages, and repeated reports are what bring restrictions — not the fact that a reply came from a system.

That's why GulfBot is built one-directional: it answers inbound. There is no send-to-everyone button, we don't sell lists, and we won't put a mass-message campaign in front of you even if you ask. If your business genuinely needs to send notifications or updates, that has its own official route through WhatsApp's approved interface, with approved templates and the customer's consent — not scattergun sending from a personal number. The line we operate on is written out on our acceptable-use page, and you can read it before you subscribe.

The ban question, answered without hand-waving.

An illustration — the worry that reaches us before nearly every subscription, and the answer we actually give.

Policy questions, with no empty reassurance.

Replying inside a conversation your customer started is ordinary use of the platform, and it makes little difference whether an employee or an AI desk answers behind the same number. What matters is the number's behaviour: is it replying to people who wrote to it, or opening conversations with people who don't know it? We only operate in the first direction.
Notifications and updates have an official route through WhatsApp's approved interface, using approved templates and with the customer's consent to receive them. That's a lane of its own with its own rules and costs, and it is not the same as copying a message to a hundred numbers from your phone. Our desk is built for answering inbound.
The number is yours from the start, we never take it from you, and the platform account stays in your name. We can't guarantee the decisions of a platform we don't own — nobody can — but what we can commit to is that our desk does none of the behaviour that causes the problem, and our limits are written on the acceptable-use page.

Worrying about your number isn't paranoia — but the cause isn't automated replies.

Let the desk answer the people who wrote to you, stay out of bulk blasting, and the number carries on as normal.
